Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh – Robert Burns Birthplace Museum Visit

CarnegieMuseumsPic01Senior Vice President Jim Thomson and I were delighted to join Barbara Tucker and her colleagues from the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh on their recent visit to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.  Barbara is the Director of Individual Giving at Carnegie Museums and the group were touring the Museums of Scotland as part of their cultural visit.

Rebecca Stapley, Museum Curator at RBBM, gave the tour of Burns Cottage, the Auld Kirk and the Brig O'Doon and the Museum.  Jim entertained the group with an explanantion of the 'goings on'  in Auld Kirk Alloway together with a rendition of an exerpt of Tam O'Shanter.

A lovely letter of thanks was received in the Federation office today from Barbara Tucker together with a couple of photographs taken on the day (a bitterly cold October morning!!).  Many thanks Barbara.  It was wonderful to meet you and your colleagues and we hope to see you again soon.
